Ilka Kuhagen

Ilka Kuhagen, CEO. Over 25 years of experience in qualitative market research. Founded IKM as boutique research agency in 1994 and IKM GmbH in 2016 .

She graduated from the Ludwig-Maximilian-University, Munich, in Business Administration, having focussed on marketing and psychology.  She began her career 1982 within the Roland Berger business-consulting group, Roland Berger Forschungs-Institut, as project assistant and from 1983 on as project manager. In 1987 Ilka Kuhagen moved on to UBM International Industrial Research. For UBM she worked as Senior Project Manager and became head of the IT and International Studies department. UBM merged with Mercer Management Consulting and is now Oliver Wyman.  In 1994 she started as an independant consultant with IKM and has specialized on qualitative research within business-to-business and international research. Since then she has conducted more than 1000 focus groups and in-depth-interviews as part of the over 200 studies she has been assigned. Being bilingual in English and German, and fluent in French and Spanish she is a truly international researcher. By contracting to native speaking moderators in other European countries and summarizing results in English she frequently extends this international dimension. Clients of IKM are usually international corporations that focus the European market. Ilka Kuhagen has often worked as a subcontractor to large research firms requiring moderation and project management in Germany or Europe. Ilka Kuhagen is a member of the Qualitative Research Consultants Association (QRCA) where she was 4 years chair of the Virtual Chapter and a member of the Board of Directors from 2006 to 2010, and again since 2016. She was Speaker Co-Chair for the QRCA conference in Phoenix 2004,  Conference Co-Chair 2006 in Atlanta and Co-Chair for the Worldwide Conference on Qualitative Research in Prague 2010. Now she holds the role of Co-Chair of the QRCA International Committee. She was a member of the consulting board (Fachbeirat) of BVM from 2010 to 2016. As a regular speaker on international conferences as GOR and Merlien, Ilka Kuhagen also spoke at QRCA conferences on ‘Partnering and Moderating in a Foreign Language Market’ and on “Global Village – qualitative online research”. Her latest topics ranged from non-verbal communication in online qualitative research to comparing online and mobile methods for hybrid research approaches.

Janina Weigl

Janina Weigl initially joined IKM in 2006 as a part-time research analyst and has since taken on the role of project manager. She has gained wide project experience in ethnographic interviews, focus groups and in-depth interviews and has extensively worked in international, qualitative and online research and across multiple industries. Janina has previously worked for Siemens IT Systems, the public relations firm Wunderman, in Telefonica’s online marketing team and and most recently as EMEA Partner Marketing Manager at Intel Security. She is a graduate of the University of Nottingham with a first-class degree in International Management [and Spanish] and holds a double-Masters degree from the ESADE Law & Business School (Barcelona) and the University of Economics (WU, Vienna) where she also completed the CEMS program. Janina specialized on international management and international research in her studies, writing her Master-Thesis on “Global Trends in Assessing Market Opportunities”. She has published in a number of qualitative research journals and is a former scholar of the Foundation of German Industry (sdw). Having studied and worked in seven different countries, Janina is fully fluent in German, English and Spanish and speaks French.

 

Nina Stolle
Nina StolleNina Stolle, project manager, has always had a passion for understanding and developing brands. After successfully completing her bachelor studies in International Business with Spanish at the University of Warwick in the United Kingdom and her master studies in International Business at Maastricht University in the Netherlands with summa cum laude she founded her own chocolate company
. Well-grounded market research and direct customer contact were the corner stones to turning her company into a success. Nina formerly worked in Spain as a Junior Consultant in the boutique consultancy m+f=! conducting market research including surveys, in-depth interviews and focus groups. Having studied and worked in five different countries, Nina is fully fluent in German, English, Spanish and French. She is a frequent speaker on entrepreneurship events and recently completed the Online Digital Marketing Course from Squared Online in collaboration with Google.

 

Niklas Kuhagen

Niklas Kuhagen works as a project manager and moderator for IKM GmbH. Since 2011 he has been involved with in-depth interviews, online communities and discussion boards.

Niklas graduated from the University of Applied Science St. Pölten with a Bachelor of Arts in Business in Media Management. With his background in media, he has previously worked for Start-ups, supporting their digital marketing strategy, as well as being the marketing lead for the music label Suol. Alongside his work, Niklas gained broad experience in project- and event management by organizing and co-hosting large-scale events including band-contests and cultural festivals.

 

 

Ameli Bischoff

Amelie Ameli Bischoff supports IKM’s research projects since 2008  and frequently leads our recruiting and screening efforts as well as coordinating the field work. As a moderator she has worked extensively with consumers and patients. As an analyst she has worked on numerous ethnographic studies as well as on online studies. She is also an experienced videographer and regularly evaluates the video clips of our participants for analytical and reporting purposes. Ameli is a Swiss national, bilingual in English and German, and often also conducts interviews in Austria. Prior to joining IKM, Ameli worked, for many years, as a media specialist and journalist, creating ethnographic reports based on in-depth interviewing and detailed desk research. Ameli holds a Masters degree in History and English Literature from the Ludwig-Maximilian University in Munich and has completed her professional training at New York’s School for Television Arts, Production and Editing (TAPE).

 

Daniel Kuhagen

_APX2322_IKMDaniel Kuhagen is a project manager within IKM’s research team, where he has been involved in multinational qualitative studies for clients particularly from the financial, pharmaceutical and B2B sectors. He has moderated numerous focus groups, IDIs, triads and online bulletin boards. Daniel has also previously worked as a senior analyst for Merrill Lynch’s M&A team, as a consultant for the insurance practice of the Boston Consulting Group, HypoVereinsbank’s Investor Relations team, as well as for market research agencies in London and Mexico D.F. Currently Daniel also holds the position of  Investment Professional at Paragon Partners in Munich. Daniel graduated from the University of Warwick with a first-class degree in Economics, and from the University of Cambridge with a Master of Philosophy in Economics, having concentrated in Behavioural and Experimental Economics. He holds an MBA from the Harvard Business School and is a former scholar of the German UWC foundation (Atlantic College) and the foundation of German Industry (sdw).
